What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you read Proverbs 19:2 (posted above)?
My initial reaction to that verse was, “WOW, REALLY?!” I’ve read through Proverbs several times, but on this particular day, Proverbs 19:2 hit home for me.
It brings me back to the time I purchased my first car, Rosalina. I was so excited about having a car that I didn’t do much research on the vehicle. All I could think was, “It looks good on the outside, and it runs fairly good. So, it must be a good car.” Listen, I didn’t have that car a couple of weeks before the problems started. I’m not talking about small problems, either. I’m talking expensive problems. It seemed as though once I got one thing fixed, something else was going wrong. I kept that car for four and a half years before I made the decision to get rid of it. Having that car was a huge lesson that I will never forgot: DO YOUR RESEARCH!
Although I spoke on the importance of doing research before purchasing a car, this concept applies to all areas of life.
- Are you looking to change careers?
- Deciding whether or not to marry someone?
- Car shopping?
- Figuring out which church to become a member of?
Whatever decision lies ahead of you, please remember to do your research before making your final decision.
Have a great, productive day!
